Achieving Sustainability for Grease Lubricated Machinery

Rich started his career in 1989, developing an oil analysis lab and maintenance reliability programmes at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Under his leadership, MRG Labs was founded in 2007 and has become recognised as a global leader in grease analysis technology. Rich holds two US patents and has helped develop several international standards for grease sampling and analysis.

He holds certifications as CLS, MLA-II, MLT-II, LLA-II and ASNT PdM Level III in infrared; has published over 50 technical papers and peer-reviewed scientific journals; and serves on the Board of Directors of the International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML).

With an overarching focus on sustainability, his presentation will cover topics including the tightening of the world Lithium supply due to EV battery demand, extending grease usage and reducing consumption by optimized usage with grease analysis and condition based greasing strategies (including Ultrasound), successful transitioning through grease product changes through testing, and extending grease lubricated machinery life.
