Chartered Mechanical engineer
Geoffrey Eastaway is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience of maintaining and operating process plants.
As a service engineer with Mather and Platt he gained broad practical experience repairing process pumps, motors and turbines. He joined Esso refining as a specialist machines engineer and subsequently moved into maintenance planning and management, before joining IFI in Cobh (as Urea and Offsites plant manager), where Reliability was fundamental to the operation of this large COMAH site. Since 2003 he has held a number of principal engineer and engineering management roles with MoD and Syngenta. Most recently he was Specialist Principal Engineer with BOC, with responsibility for pressure systems, asset integrity and reliability of fixed assets in UK and Ireland, though he has never lost his interest in machinery. He retired back to Midleton in June.
